Don't even buy it for Windows, because a lot of people are having problems with "Playstation PC SDK" software.
I managed to get it to run with "SteamDeck=1 %command%" which then opens a browser to register a Playstation Network account. After several puzzles to solve I finally got a PSN account created (wasn't accepting my solutions... I guess I'm too stupid. Not too stupid to get my money back though)
Then, while I got in the game menus for the first time, there's no mouse and I couldn't operate the menus. I'll be fucked if I'm playing a game like that with a controller.
So I took a refund. I'm royally pissed off, because it took about 4 hours to download. Steam downloads are crappy nowadays too,

After all those hoops you had to go through too to get to that point.
Re: God of War Ragnarok - Do not buy
I was waiting, because I didn't really need a new game at this time, and also thinking that it would be better to wait for Proton fixes etc. but then I saw it was "Steam Deck Verified!" so I assumed that meant it would work perfectly for me too.
Indeed, the game itself probably works perfectly (and reports corroborate that), it's the shovelware. On Linux "SteamDeck=1" eliminates the need for that Playstation shitware, using a browser based sign in and simply tying the game to your Steam account. But mouse support is disabled in SteamDeck mode.
I found a lot of people on Windows having the problem with the Playstation PC SDK software, and being instructed to run the .msi installer for the client failed for them.
