Sniper Elite V2 Remastered revisited

Post by Grogan »

I've been playing Sniper Elite V2 Remastered lately, I wanted to test it with my ntsync proton builds and it works beautifully. Previously, I had to disable Esync and Fsync or it would be crashipoo. It likes ntsync though.

I also noticed that it has Supersampling antialiasing (like Sniper Elite 3) which makes it look really good for old remastered graphics. To get that effect in the newer games you have to use resolution scaling. SE4 doesn't need it as much (though it's an improvement) but without using that, SE5 and SER look terrible on my display, with shimmering aliasing when you move, most noticeable in brighter daytime lighting.

This is really quite a good game, game play wise, too. Both the campaign maps and the Challenge maps (the DLC is implemented as challenge maps too). Included in the Remaster is all of those, and Neudorf Outpost, which is gorgeous.

Neudorf Outpost with supersampling:

I haven't played that one in a while, I'll have to revisit it again soon.
