Tired Of Apt In Debian
I've had Debian on my kitchen machine for a while, I figured it would be good for that since it doesn't get a lot of updates. But apt periodically screws up with unresolved dependencies that I have to sort out. It did it again today after updating it and I finally had enough. It also failed to configure the newly installed kernel. I would have been better off having Arch on that machine, pacman doesn't give me that much trouble plus I'm more used to pacman than I am apt. So I put the latest Fedora Plasma iso on Ventoy, installed that, and copied over my Firefox profile. I'll probably overwrite Debian with something else later (I have two drives in that machine) but Fedora has always worked well for me, I've never had any issues with dnf, so it'll do for now.
Re: Tired Of Apt In Debian
I utterly detest Fedora. Dictatorial rubbish, pushing Wayland only Gnome, taking away lib32 dependencies, making people run things in containers, shitty dev environment etc. Fedora is where Linux goes to die, promoted by the Phoronix moronic Peanut Gallery.
Sorry, nothing good to say about that distribution

Re: Tired Of Apt In Debian
You really ought to try CachyOS. You use packages, and theirs will be the best optimized you can get. Your choice of tweaked kernels, x86_64-v3 package repos etc. Hell, they even provide their own tweaked Proton for Steam that you can use.
I would try it, but I already build my own optimized packages on Arch, and it's a GUI installer that won't let me do what I want etc.

Yeah I've thought of checking it out, maybe install it on a 2nd drive on my game machine which has vanilla Arch.
