The Tuesday Bug

Coincidentally I watched that last night. Well, part of it, I can't listen to those people waxing and repeating themselves for long. I jumped through to get the gist of the Tuesday problem.

It's all in the silly way both OpenOffice and Cups were handling print jobs. OpenOffice was converting them to .ps files in /tmp, and cups uses file magic to determine the type of print file when presented with one in that manner. The characters Tue were causing file to detect it as another type of file which was incorrect. That's ridiculous, all across the board.
