Re: New Kernel

Linux 6.15.5 today
https://cdn.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v6.x/ChangeLog-6.15.5

Seems to be mostly drm related fixes, including several drm/amd/display fixes related to brightness level curves. Another for mpv video corruption using the Weston compositor. Other (relevant) misc fixes like nvme ...

That's usually the same place I find him, in that shed. I can see his white dot hiding in there, so I pitch a grenade in the window

What's happening is that you got seen. To use those other methods, you have to not ever alert any enemies in the map. Hitler always goes to ground if something ...

Yes, I heard. Without immediate injunctions, there's no way to keep overzealous lawmakers in check. This individual suing bullshit is a barrier too, I think to sue the U.S. government you have to put up a bond in case you lose and have to pay court costs.

The Trump administration is doing ...

Re: Shrinking Fish

It seems that the more primitive an organism is, the faster it can adapt genetically to changed environments. If our environment suddenly and drastically changed, humans and other higher mammals would be extinct before the thousands of years it takes to adapt.

That said, I miss cod! That used to be ...

Re: Sniper Elite Resistance

Chintzy to charge extra for that gun, but it's worth having. That gun should be in every WWII game where there are Germans. Well, the Kar98K is IN the game, but you can only pick it up and use it without buying it.

What made that gun so good in COD was that it had a blunt, rectangular front sight ...

Re: Sniper Elite Resistance

I love the End of the Line, the atmosphere while skulking around that train yard is really cool. The kill challenge for that one is easy to get, you just have to shoot a huge tall gas tank beside your assassination target to get it. I forget what that one unlocks, but to unlock some accessories you ...

Re: Sniper Elite Resistance

I finally got the 100 round drum unlocked for the Thompson M1A1 SMG. I think I had to get 250 kills while aiming with that gun. (It starts off with a 20 round, then 30, then 50, then finally 100 but I didn't bother until I got the 100. The 20 round is actually fine, I find myself reloading anyway ...

Re: New Mesa

I got to thinking, it is sensible to add that setting, but not sensible to error out when llvm is disabled. It should imply false. If this was accidental, meson setup would fail anyway if other drivers that require it are being built so all it did was piss me off.

The reason being, you can use ACO ...

Some of the things these people do defy logic

mesa/meson.build:214:3: ERROR: Feature llvm cannot be disabled: RadeonSI Gallium driver configured to require LLVM

I had to go through the meson.options file to find that they added a new boolean setting, amd-use-llvm. So in addition to llvm=disabled I ...

Everything about Facebook is a fraud. They'll let Donald Trump and his cronies post destructive lies, but you'll get threatened for reposting pics. Too much beige in one spot? Nudity! A picture of a coastline? Terrorism

Re: Arch Linux 2024

For future reference, to make a fontconfig package that won't touch those symlinks, the commented lines are what I chopped from fontconfig.install (in the fontconfig PKGBUILD directory) so the scripts that nuke the /etc/fonts/conf.d symlinks won't run. I don't understand that echoed message, it ...

Re: Arch Linux 2024

fur fuck's sake... I noticed that my fonts started looking shitty. It's because Arch's fontconfig package now disables sub pixel hinting in /etc/fonts/conf.d symlinks. It sets 10-subpixel-none.conf. So every time fontconfig gets updated (which has been ridiculously often, lately) that will get ...

Sorry to hear that, I hope he doesn't get very ill. I think the virus is getting less lethal as it mutates into new strains. Also, he's likely been vaccinated against previous strains so likely has some defenses.

I've been very glad to see that my essential/favourite file manager is still being worked on. However, when version 2 was released, I resisted it because it's something I don't want to change. It's probably not the default, because it's impractical. While not as easy to follow, you can always get all the package names on screen in the default line wrapped horizontal list. It's because other countries benefit from that data. It's part of this administration's isolationist policies, not "security". That'll be why they are locking it up only for them.

Since the sabotage of the NOAA, I've noticed gaps in weather data feed. The Weather Network hasn't been as accurate (it ...

These Cyberpower units are pretty small now, but they are still futhermuckin heavy (there's no way around it with lead acid batteries, with the amperage you need to deliver for a reasonable period of time). There's one LMG in the game, a .303 that's ridiculous. A LMG that's pretty much a one hit kill. Well, by the time you get 2 or 3 rounds in them they are more than dead

I normally don't like LMGs because I like quiet guns, but at the end of Sonderzuge, after I've picked up the last intel ...
