Old HDMI Bug

The HDMI bug that's been a problem for years with some HDMI displays in Linux, particularly ones that poll all the inputs before going to sleep, seems to have been fixed in newer versions of Plasma (6.x). The morning after I moved here I had had an appointment scheduled in advance for a tech to get my Internet access going. I didn't have a lot of time before he was scheduled to arrive so I grabbed a couple random displays for my main machine so that I could test the connection when the technician got the connection going. I've been mostly in Arch the past month and didn't have any issues with the HDMI screens I was using. I finally got around to Slackware last night and noticed the screens not going to sleep, and then I remembered. So now I'll have to find my DisplayPort displays and swap them over. I also tested it with the latest release of Fedora which also has Plasma 6 and it works there as well. In an old Debian install with Plasma 5 it does not. Good to know that that problem has finally been addressed.
