Early Morning Meeting Repeatedly Rescheduled

Because we are the last ones to look at the charts we're often given extra stuff to do, by other depts, not part of our primary work, it's been that way every place I've worked in this field. This other dept has setup a system to notify us of some of these cases, and they scheduled a 2ndary meeting about a month ago. It was scheduled in the afternoon, but then the day before the meeting they rescheduled it for the following week early in the morning. Then the night before that meeting they reschedule it for the following week at the same time. The morning of that meeting they reschedule it again, but since I didn't know it had been rescheduled again, I got up early for nothing. I went back to bed but couldn't get back to sleep so I was dragging all day. The following week, the same thing happened. And then today, I got up early to find the rescheduled meeting rescheduled again. This time I managed to recover some lost sleep at least but most of the time once I'm up, I'm up. I hope they finally just get it over with next week, I hate getting up early. I wonder how long they will be kicking this can down the road.

They think you're at their beck and call all the time, and "sorry about the short notice" when they aren't really, or they'd be more conscientious. What the fuck do they need to have a "meeting" for, it's not like you're on the board of directors. Spinning their wheels, gathering everyone together, wasting time and bandwidth when they could just send you info... the meeting is just going to tell you what to do anyway.

It's similar to people who want to talk on the phone about something that could have been handled via email. That happened with the title company this week. I had two voicemails and I had to replay one of the messages a dozen times to figure out what phone number she was saying, which was different than the one she called from. They always seem to talk extra fast when saying the phone number. The other one wasn't much better.
Time to get up ridiculously early yet again for the meeting that may or may not happen. At least once I move I'll be a time zone ahead of them so their early meetings won't be quite as early, at least while CA is on standard time (AZ stays on standard time year-round).

I hate talking on the phone, I can explain things etc. much better in an email anyway.
