Imported Stuff

Here when red bell peppers are imported they have mainly come from Mexico (I always look at the stickers), though I've occasionally seen some come from other countries, last summer I had some that came from a Northern European country (Denmark I think). But this is the first time I've seen some that were sourced from Israel. Of course once the Trump tariffs happen we probably won't see as much stuff imported, and what we do see will likely be too expensive.

Were they good? I had my mom's stuffed bell peppers for supper tonight. It's a hollowed out red pepper, filled with meat and a bit of breadcrumb and seasoning. The juices from the pepper bake into it and it's fabulous :-)

I'll find out Saturday :) When you don't eat a lot of sugar the red bell peppers taste really sweet.

My parents used to prepare stuffed bell peppers similar to that, except they always used the green bell peppers.

My mother makes green, yellow and red when she does it. I like the red the best, it's the sweetest and most flavourful. The green is the traditional dish (it's my grandmother's recipe) and it's flavourful, but it has a different flavour. The yellow is the least flavourful, but I'll lick that up just the same.
