Microsoft must think they are pretty clever, those controllers are a back end thing, not exposed to the OS. They must be doing something really hinkey.
I'm glad I don't have to worry about Microsoft updates breaking my shit and undoing configuration. My dad's laptop has Windows 11, I should check it, but he just does web, email, documents etc. nothing that would be moving large amounts of data.
I heard about another update that broke recovery options in Windows 10 and Windows 11, such that restore, reset, repair etc. weren't working. There's an update buried in an optional "quality update" rollup that fixes it. I got it on their Windows 10 computer, but dad's win11 laptop wasn't showing it available.
