I've actually been playing Dead Space 2 recently, it's never had any activation issues. I've had it for a very long time, on Steam. (it's pre-origin/ea app). The game does need CPU cores limited or it just crashes though. It otherwise runs superbly, for an old 32 bit DX9 game. Well written. The activation is the sabotage.
I do have EA games that won't activate anymore though... the cunts. I haven't tried contacting support though, it's not worth the time (I've not heard good things about it). A few of them (racing games) that I wanted to get back I just bought the remasters for next to nothing in EA sales. One of my older games in my library, Burnout Paradise, it refused to install telling me "you don't own it". Well, what the fuck has it been doing in my library for the last 15 years if I don't own it?
I'm happy to pay for games. It's the only thing I do pay for, I have no need to pay for any other software, I have what I want in free software. So anti-piracy crap just pisses me off.
