Smile Windows Media Player 11 on XP

Just want to pass along a tip on the above--recently I upgraded to player 11. Periodically I install a background song in my emails and for some reason they were not playing.

I fooled with it for a time but to no avail. Rolled back to player 10 and now works like a charm.

Not too sure what the problem is but I can live with 10.

Thanks for posting this, Marv. I haven't heard of that problem but nothing surprises me with Media Player. It's a serious piece of bloatware rubbish and it keeps getting worse with every version.

That's a good solution, rolling back to 10 on XP, because it's less cumbersome in various ways. I'll remember this and if I run into anyone with the same problem, that'll be my solution too.

Not only that, only Microsoft could come up with a media player that's so dangerous. Media Player has lovely codec downloading machinery that can be used to infect systems with malware.
