Re: Sniper Elite Resistance
That's pretty good! I got all three of those artillery spotters with long distance shots from the other side of the map in a tower.

Re: Arch Linux 2024
Not yet but I plan to install it on my game machine soon. I could also get Steam etc going here on my main machine though my game machine has a stronger video card.

Re: Arch Linux 2024
I've had CatchyOS installed on my main machine for two months now, and I've found that I'm spending more time in it than in vanilla Arch. I only have MATE and Cosmic DE's installed (mostly using MATE at this time). I like Plasma, which is what I have in vanilla Arch, but I also like the simplicity ...

I noticed he had a live stream going, he does that on weekends sometimes. I'll often put it on and listen while doing other things. I didn't catch this one until it was at the 4 hour mark, and now it's past 5 hours lol!

TV Tube Testers
I remember sometime in the 1970's going with my parents to one of the local stores and my dad testing all the tubes from the TV to find the bad one.

Re: New Phone Today
About 6 years ago I got an early PinePhone phone, it wasn't intended as a "daily driver" phone since it still had a long way to go at that time. They mainly wanted to get it in the hands of developers. Battery life wasn't very good but it was fun to play around with. It was also fairly cheap. No ...

Re: FB Posts
FB public posts about anything remotely related to climate change, vaccinations, etc and even science topics in general will have a large percentage of "
" reactions. Seems like it has gotten a lot worse over the last six months.

I'm in the 2nd DLC now, it's a really nice map so far with the nighttime setting and stream running through the map.

Re: New Phone Today
I get slightly less of that with the Pixel phones than I used to with the others, just Google's own store. Only way to get away from all that stuff in Android is with one of those deGoogled versions of Android like LineageOS and GrapheneOS . One of these days I'll play around with those on an older ...

Re: New Phone Today
Yeah that's the thing about phones, the poor control we have over them. I got a Pixel 9 about a month or so ago, I wanted to do it before the tariffs would potentially raise the prices. My old phone is now my backup phone.

Re: Crappy Water Company
One of the complaints I read summed it up - "if they make a mistake, it's your fault". Makes me miss the municipal water district serving the area I used to live, I never had any problems with them in the 17 years I lived there.

One of the many things I've learned from this move, you should research the utility companies you'll be stuck with in the area you're considering moving to. The electric company has been OK so far, but the others not so much. The water company is the worst of them. They have auto-bill-pay but you ...

Re: Sniper Elite Resistance
I completed the Lights Camera Achtung DLC mission, I planted every single thing to kill Hitler - two poisons, a mine on a film set, grenade in a toilet etc. But nothing happened after that. I wandered around and finally found Hitler hiding in a small green building next to a guard tower. I hoped in ...

Re: Shrinking Fish
Yeah viruses are another example of rapid evolution, killing the host isn't in their best interest as it cuts off the spread to other victims, subsequent strains that are less deadly are able to propagate better and so eventually they replace the earlier more deadly versions. Exactly what we've seen ...

Re: Scottish Leader Sums It Up
A few months ago Trump was complaining about having to follow the protocol we have in a democracy before doing some of the things he wanted to do, rather than being able to just do them without question (like dictators can).
